I was Commanding Officer of 408 Squadron from 1 Oct 1968 until 1 Apr 1970 at CFB Rivers Man. The Sqn was equipped with T-33 aircraft with the role of a Tactical Fighter Squadron in anticipation of being reequipped with the new CF-5. Unfortunately for us, it was decided that 433 Squadron would become the first Francophone Squadron and they received the CF-5 while 408 Sqn was disbanded, but not before we received the Squadron Standard in March 1970. I see that I am not included in the former COs of 408 Sqn, but assure you I was, succeeding Bud McKay. I would like to be included in the group. Thanks, Bob Mortimer, MGen (Retired)
